Lynda Barry's lecture was so entertaining and I thought it was very interesting. She wrote the book What It Is .This book is similar to the sketchbooks that students do in 2D class. The way that Lynda Barry draws herself in cartoon is exactly how she is and looks. She went to Evergreen College in Washington State. She explained how she sees and looks at an image as spontaneous and sometimes specific. she also talked about how children get attached to objects for example a blanket that they have had since they were born. another thing that she talked about is the how people and children go into a state of play and/or creativity. she also mentioned how singing comes before speech. she also read some of her book at the lecture which had found objects in the book and also cartoons and how she felt growing up as an artist/cartoonist and how people saw or thought of her. In this lecture she was being who she really is and not just standing in the front giving a lecture it was like she put on a show and used the whole floor of the room. she also had her own thoughts and opinions about things too which was nice. now I wish that i went to the library to recieve one of those free books since the book sounds interesting.
