On wednesday Teresa Jaynes who is an executive director for Philagrafika came to speak more about Philagrafika and what it is and how everything works. Philagrafika is an international festival that celebrates print in contemporary art. she said that this project began in 2000 as an experiment. Ther are many international funders for Philagrafika. Most of Philagrafika is anchored in museums and instituitons. There are five core exhibition sites (core being The Graphic Unconsious Exhibition): Pennsylvania of Fine Arts, Philadelphia Museum of Art, Moore College of Art and Design, Tyler School of Art and The Print Center. At Moore they have Gunilla Klingberg who has Brand New View which has logos of different places, like Shoprite and Rite Aid etc to create this design on the window at Moore. At the PMA there is Oscar Munoz Narcisos en proceso (Narcissi in process), silkscreens on water, screen printed charcoal pigment on water in plexiglass.
