Ceramics, Metals, jewelry and CAD-CAM
Chad Curtis from the ceramics department came and talked about the different ceramic classes that are available. He showed us that there are different ways that clay can be fired and glazed through different techniques. he also talked about mold making for a class you can take and also the way you can glaze your pottery ex. salt glaze. another thing that he talked about were the beginning classes for ceramics and what students past classes had to make. on one class students had to make a working usable teapot. next the lady that runs the metals department talked about the programs they have. she said that this department is world renown. she talked about the beginning classes for metals are objects for the hand. they are the only area that puts on a show for the seniors. they also have a class for business practices for life after tyler which they will be able to learn how to manage their own business and things like that.
