CNN Alison Chang with Virgin Mobile
This video was interesting because it made me think of the negative impact from putting pictures online can have for people. Alison's friend put her picture on a Flikr account which then a Virgin Mobile ad used in Australia and they didn't have the consent of her parents to use this picture for their ads. so now her parents are suing. it does make me think of what can happen once pictures are out there they can backfire even if you think they can't. at least if i had a picture used in an ad i would want to get in on that and get at least money for it.
Photosynth
i thought this video was also interesting. i liked the way that he was able to view the entire screen and then be able to zoom into the picture. also how there was that book and when zoomed out looked like a bunch of lines going down which ended up being the chapters of a book. another thing that was cool about this is how they were able to take pictures that people have taken of this church and combined it to look like a full 3D image of the place.
Larry Lessig on Laws that Choke Creativity
this video goes along with what is going on in music today to an extent especially with the music industries today. for example rappers that take clips of older songs and put them in their own mix so people think they came up with this themselves and also the clips that he showed within his talk is what a lot of people do now which can be funny and sometimes creative i think since it takes time and effort to get the mouth of someone to go when the music does. but at the same time he has a point since they may not have asked for permission to use a section of the song similar to the situation with the band The Verve.
